Vacant Pulpit: Greater New Hope Missionary Baptist Church, East St. Louis, IL (Deadline September 30, 2015)

Greater New Hope Missionary Baptist Church, East St. Louis, Illinois, is prayerfully seeking a full time pastor to lead and guide our church into growth, both spiritually and outreach. The primary role shall be preaching, training, and ministering to the congregation and the community.

Criteria/Qualifications:

• Licensed, ordained minister (Provide Proof of).

• Experience: 3-5 years as a Pastor, and or assistant/associate minister to the Pastor, Pastoral Administrative role (Interim Minister, etc.).

• Effective written, oral communication skills.

• Strong administrative, interpersonal and leadership skills.

• Ability to work with the congregation on all levels.

• Spirit -filled, bible scholar; able to develop and deliver sermons/messages that emphasize a commitment to scripture and are practical and relevant to today’s culture.
• Exhibits a high degree of personal spiritual maturity, reflecting the character of Christ in both private and public life.
• Bachelors or higher degree from an accredited institution of higher education and/or attendance at a seminary. (Preferred: optional or negotiable).
• Encourages and helps the Associate Ministers, Deacons, Trustees and all ministries to develop their spiritual gifts and to grow in their love for and dependence upon the Lord Jesus Christ.
• High moral standards and encourages the same for the congregation.
• Promotes strategic development, planning and implementation of the church’s mission.
• Commitment to Christian Education, Prayer, Evangelism and Mission.
• Ability to develop and promote harmony within an established and multi-generational congregation.
• Encourages community involvement at all levels
• Willingness to submit to a background check (Criminal-Financial)
